Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway is considered doubtful for Saturday's game against Louisiana Tech as he continues recovering from an ankle injury. That could give Nate Bennett a second consecutive start, after Bennett led Baylor past Prairie View A&M, 44-3, with 314 passing yards, three touchdown passes and a rushing score.

Lagway was hurt in Baylor's 17-16 season-opening loss to Auburn but remained in the game. He finished with 333 yards passing, two touchdowns and an interception, and a wrap was visible on his ankle. He did not play against Prairie View A&M.

Baylor coach Dave Aranda said Lagway felt good during a Sunday practice, and the quarterback was expected to work with the team during the week. On3 reporter Pete Nakos reported that Lagway is expected to be ready for Baylor's Big 12 opener against Colorado on Sept. 26, though the team is taking a cautious approach.

The Colorado game is scheduled for 10 a.m. MT at Baylor. Colorado is scheduled to play Northwestern before traveling to Baylor, and the matchup could feature Lagway against Colorado quarterback Julian Lewis if Lagway returns. Source: si.com
