The Dallas Cowboys will have four defensive players unavailable Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil: DeMarvion Overshown, P.J. Locke, Malik Hooker and Cobie Durant. Overshown is a linebacker, Locke and Hooker play safety, and Durant is a cornerback.
Three of the four are starters. Locke is also Dallas’ third safety and a primary reserve, and he will miss a Baltimore offense led by quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry.
None of the players practiced during the week, and all four remained in Dallas rather than traveling to Brazil. The Cowboys ranked in the bottom three of the NFL in total defense in 2025 and currently sit 29th among 32 teams after two games this season.
Stephen Jones, the team’s executive vice president, said Overshown and Hooker might be options for the Week 4 matchup at the Houston Texans. Overshown has a hamstring strain, while Hooker is recovering from a fractured forearm. Both were hurt in the season opener against the Giants and missed Dallas’ Week 2 win over Washington.
Overshown is the defensive signal caller. Neither player has clearance to return, and Heavy.com did not report that either was likely to play. Durant’s hamstring injury and Locke’s foot injury are not expected to heal in time for Houston.
