TCU’s 2027 recruiting group now has 19 commitments, with North Crowley offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks joining after moving his pledge from Stephen F. Austin. Brooks announced the change on social media Sept. 17.
Brooks said conversations with his family and personal prayer preceded the decision. He described the move as a choice to remain close to home. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound lineman had mainly received offers from Football Championship Subdivision programs, including SFA and Southern University. TCU is his first Football Bowl Subdivision offer, and Brooks selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.
North Crowley started the season 3-0 with victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. The Panthers are scheduled to play at Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday. Sports.yahoo.com reported that TCU’s 2027 class is ranked No. 54 nationally and eighth in the Big 12.
