The Houston Texans are evaluating former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Kenneth Murray after Henry To'oTo'o sustained a shoulder injury. Murray visited the team Tuesday and did not sign a contract.
To'oTo'o has been placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss several months. Houston also promoted linebacker Jamal Hill from its practice squad to the active roster. Murray could provide practice-squad depth and potentially be elevated for games, although no agreement has been reported.
Murray, 27, was the Los Angeles Chargers' 23rd overall pick in 2020 after receiving All-American honors at Oklahoma. He joined Tennessee in 2024 and led the Titans in tackles before Dallas acquired him in the following offseason for two draft picks.
Murray started all 16 games for the Cowboys last season, finishing with 81 tackles, four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one sack and one fumble recovery. He ranked second on the team in tackles.
Murray has also worked out for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants since the offseason began. Houston is scheduled to host the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Reliant Stadium, with kickoff set for noon on CBS.
