The Houston Texans have officially added running back Deuce Vaughn to their roster, as announced by the team on Monday. Vaughn, who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds, spent the entire 2025 season on the practice squad of the Denver Broncos after joining in September 2024.
He re-signed with the Broncos in January on a reserve/future deal but was released in May. After his departure from Denver, Vaughn played for the UFL's Orlando Storm before making his return to the NFL with the Texans.
To make room for Vaughn, the Texans waived wide receiver Juwann Winfree, who also had a stint with the Broncos. The Texans have also conducted workouts with former Denver receiver Josh Reynolds and running back Blake Watson, according to the NFL's transaction wire.
Currently, four other former Broncos practice squad players are still free agents after their contracts ended in February. These players are quarterback Ben DiNucci, tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Patrick Murtagh, and defensive back Delarrin Turner-Yell. Additionally, defensive lineman Jonathan Harris recently had a workout with the Minnesota Vikings. Further information regarding Vaughn's role with the Texans or Winfree's future plans has not been disclosed.
