Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko has announced that wide receiver Madden Williams will be out for the remainder of the 2026 season due to a lower-body injury sustained during practice, which will require surgery. Williams was not in uniform for the season opener against Missouri State, joining safety Tawfiq Byard on the sidelines.
Williams' injury marks the third wide receiver loss for the Aggies before the season officially began. Earlier in fall camp, Jonah Wilson was removed from the roster after transferring from Houston, and Jerome Myles, a former five-star recruit, was also announced to be leaving the program due to personal reasons.
Myles had missed the entire 2025 season due to injury and did not play for the Aggies.
In light of Williams' absence, Texas A&M will depend on its primary wide receivers, including Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. True freshman Aaron Gregory made a notable contribution in the opener, catching a 15-yard touchdown pass and totaling two receptions for 22 yards.
Kelshaun Johnson and TK Norman will also see increased opportunities, with Johnson recording three catches for 25 yards against Missouri State. The team will finalize its wide receiver depth chart in the upcoming games before facing LSU in Baton Rouge.
