Nimmo Leads Offense
Harrison Nimmo recorded three hits for the Texas Rangers, providing the offensive spark needed to secure a 4-3 victory over the Miami Marlins on Monday. The Rangers’ performance was highlighted by Nimmo’s early contribution, which set the tone for the rest of the contest at loanDepot Park in Miami, Florida.
Scoring Sequence
Texas took an early lead in the fourth inning when Evan Duran launched a home run to center field, measuring 407 feet. The blast drove in Nimmo, giving the Rangers a 2-0 advantage. The Marlins responded in the fifth inning when Jesus Aguilar hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing JT Chourio to score and cutting the deficit to 2-1.
The game remained tight through the middle innings. In the sixth, Miami tied the score at 2-2 when Jesus Luzardo tripled to left field, allowing Miguel Rojas to score before Luzardo was thrown out at home. The Rangers regained the lead in the eighth inning. Adolis García doubled to right field, bringing Nimmo home to make it 3-2. García advanced to third base on the play.
Shortly after, Nathaniel Lowe hit a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing García to score from third and extend the Rangers’ lead to 4-2. The Marlins attempted a late rally in the bottom of the eighth. Jake Burger doubled to right field, allowing Nick Gonzales to score and making it 4-3. However, Miami could not complete the comeback, and the Rangers held on for the win.
