He improved his record to 8-4 on the season. The Texas Rangers’ starting pitcher, Jose Corniell, took the loss after struggling with command and contact. Corniell pitched 3.1 innings, yielding five earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three. His record fell to 0-1.
