Alvarez Leads the Way
Yordan Alvarez delivered the decisive blow in a tight contest at Daikin Park, hitting his 25th home run of the season to give the Houston Astros an early advantage over the Cleveland Guardians. The home run provided the Astros with a 1-0 lead that they would maintain until the bottom of the fourth inning. Alvarez later crossed the plate again when Nathaniel Paredes singled to center field, advancing Alvarez from second base and extending Houston’s margin to 2-0.
