Christian Walker delivered the decisive blow in the 10th inning, launching a three-run home run that propelled the Houston Astros to a 7-5 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday at Comerica Park. The extra-inning win improved the Astros' record to 42-44, while the Tigers fell to 35-49.

The Tigers took an early lead in the second inning when McKinstry homered to right center, a 386-foot shot that drove in Carpenter for a 2-0 advantage. Detroit extended their lead to 3-0 in the fifth inning when McGonigle scored on a fielding error by Astros second baseman Delgado, who also allowed Greene to reach safely.

Houston began its comeback in the seventh inning. Delgado hit a 409-foot home run to right field, scoring Meyers to cut the deficit to 3-2. The Tigers responded in the eighth inning when Paredes homered to left, a 402-foot shot that tied the game at 3-3.

The contest remained deadlocked until the 10th inning. Paredes singled to right field, allowing Peña to score and giving Houston a 4-3 lead. Walker then cleared the bases with a 394-foot home run to left, extending the Astros' advantage to 7-3. However, the Tigers managed to score two more runs in the frame when Torkelson homered to right center, a 379-foot shot that brought Greene home for a final score of 7-5.

Hunter Brown started for Houston, pitching six innings and allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking out four batters. He was supported by a bullpen effort that included Bryan Abreu, Steven Okert, Bryan King, Enyel De Los Santos, and Josh Hader. Hader earned the win, improving his record to 2-0, while De Los Santos took the loss.

For Detroit, Jack Flaherty started and threw five innings, allowing two hits and no earned runs with nine strikeouts. Tyler Holton pitched 1.2 innings for the save, and Kyle Finnegan earned the blown save. Kenley Jansen pitched 1.1 innings, allowing three earned runs, and took the loss, dropping his record to 1-4. Jacob Waguespack closed the game with 0.2 scoreless innings.
