Amanda Mercedes Grady was taken into custody on Thursday and faces five counts of cruelty to a livestock animal. Her bond has been set at $25,000.
Grayson County deputies confirmed that Grady is the daughter of Jimmy Perry Grady. He was arrested in June following the discovery of more than 30 horses in poor living conditions on his property located in the 2600 block of US 82.
Investigators stated that the case began after complaints were filed regarding the mistreatment of the animals. Deputies reported that some of the horses exhibited signs of malnourishment and other medical issues.
The horses are currently being cared for by Grayson County authorities. Further details regarding the specific medical conditions or the number of animals involved have not been provided.
