Braum's, an Oklahoma-based dairy and fast-food chain, opened its second location in Sherman on Monday morning. The new store is situated at the southwest corner of US 75 and FM 1417, providing residents of the city's south side with a shorter drive to the brand.
General manager Isbela Perez stated that the business has been busy since opening. To mark the launch, the company hosted a week-long celebration featuring scratch-and-win tickets. Prizes for these tickets include free food, ice cream, gift cards, and laptops. Perez noted that the company frequently uses promotions to grow its customer base.
Customer Jess Parrish, who visited on opening day, expressed satisfaction with having a store on the south end of town after years of using the location on the north end. Parrish highlighted the convenience of the grocery section and the availability of burgers and fries.
They also pointed out that the nearby high school would likely bring customers from across the city, particularly from the south side.
Parrish observed that the area is seeing increased development, with new buildings and apartments being constructed. They described the growth as making the area feel like a "second city." While Parrish mentioned not being a frequent ice cream consumer, they acknowledged enjoying a chocolate shake during the visit.
