Severe weather has caused substantial damage in Gunter, a community located approximately 15 miles southwest of Sherman. The Grayson County Sheriff's Office reported that a severe weather event resulted in significant destruction in the 1000 block of Fox Lane, specifically affecting the Good Shepherd RV Park and Storage facility. According to the sheriff's office, several campers and mobile homes were overturned during the incident.

The damage in Gunter is part of a broader pattern of destruction across North Texas. Multiple tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds have impacted the region, leading to injuries and widespread property loss. Officials in Mineral Wells noted that at least two major manufacturers were affected by the storms. In Denton County, severe weather on Sunday evening created a 45-to-50-foot hole in the roof of a Walmart Distribution Center in Sanger.

Other areas have also faced significant challenges. Bonham was among the hardest-hit locations, with wind and rain causing trees to fall on homes and power lines. In Wise County, a rural school district canceled classes for the week following severe overnight storms. Thousands of residents in Palo Pinto County were left without power on Monday morning. The National Weather Service stated that the tornadoes in the region ranged in severity from EF-0 to EF-2.

The storms have also claimed lives. Authorities in Wise and Parker counties confirmed two storm-related deaths on Saturday. Neighbors in Springtown and Runaway Bay are grieving the loss of two individuals. Mayor Herman White of Runaway Bay stated that a deadly tornado struck the southwestern, western, and northern edges of the community. J.D. Clark provided an update on Sunday morning regarding the death in Wise County.

Residents are now beginning the process of recovery and insurance claims. Experts advise that after assessing vehicle damage, individuals should contact their insurance companies immediately. Some roofing companies have begun contacting residents offering free inspections as the region thaws out. In other parts of the state, such as Santo, residents like Joseph Kidwiler are inventorying losses from overnight flooding. In Valley View, a couple continues to recover from a deadly EF-3 tornado that struck a year ago, which damaged 31 homes and destroyed one completely.

Details regarding the specific cause of the damage in Gunter or the total number of affected properties there are not yet clear. Further information on the status of the Good Shepherd RV Park and Storage facility is also not yet available.
