Rain chances are expected to increase across Texoma on Thursday, with a 60% chance of coverage and the most favorable conditions from the afternoon into early evening, meteorologist Michael Bohling said.

Most locations are expected to receive less than 0.5 inch of rain. Some isolated spots could get more than 1 inch if heavier rainfall develops. Thursday’s high temperatures are forecast to remain in the 90s, followed by a return to triple-digit heat Friday.

Wednesday marked the ninth day this September with temperatures reaching 100 degrees, leaving the area one day short of the monthly record of 10. It was also the 54th day this year to reach 100 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to ease into the 90s next week, though the forecast indicates they will probably stay above average for several more weeks. The forecast was reported by yahoo.com.
