The 2030 football schedule for Texas Tech is now complete following the addition of a home matchup against Texas State. The Red Raiders will host the Bobcats on Sept. 14, 2030, according to a contract obtained via an open-records request and reported by FBSchedules.com. This agreement includes a game guarantee of $1.2 million that Texas Tech must pay to Texas State.
The new date slots between two other confirmed games. The season opens on Aug. 31, 2030, with a road game against Arkansas in Las Vegas. One week before the Texas State contest, the Red Raiders are set to host Fresno State.
While the 2030 slate is finished, the program still needs non-conference opponents for 2027, 2028, and 2029. These vacancies resulted from recent cancellations and buyouts, including a missed two-game series with Mississippi State and a 2027 game against North Carolina State that was bought out.
Other long-term adjustments include a 2034 home game against Arkansas, which was moved from 2030 to accommodate the Las Vegas opener. Additionally, a 2033 road trip to Oregon was shifted from 2024 to preserve the Oregon and Oregon State rivalry game for that earlier year. Financial guarantees for remaining future opponents range from $300,000 to $1 million.
