The Houston Texans will be without wide receiver Jayden Higgins for the entirety of the 2026 season after he suffered a torn ACL. This injury occurred during a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Higgins, who was the 34th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, had a strong first year, achieving 41 catches for 525 yards and six touchdowns. He became a crucial target for quarterback C.J. Stroud, especially after teammate Tank Dell was injured late in the 2024 season.
In his second year, Higgins caught 41 passes out of 68 targets, particularly shining during Houston's nine-game winning streak to finish the regular season. He notably scored four touchdowns in the last nine weeks and recorded his highest yardage in Weeks 13 and 17.
In Higgins' absence, the Texans will rely on players like Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to step up in the receiving lineup. The team remains optimistic that Tank Dell, who is also recovering from an injury, may return to contribute during the season. Details on Higgins' recovery timeline have not yet been disclosed.
