Langford’s Decisive Hit
Wyatt Langford provided the decisive blow in the ninth inning, singling to left field to score Osuna and give the Texas Rangers a 7-6 lead. The victory marked a significant moment for Langford, who was making his return to the active roster following time on the injured list. His single capped a dramatic late-inning surge that erased a substantial deficit against the Los Angeles Angels.
Angels’ Early Dominance
The Angels established control early, building a commanding 5-1 advantage by the middle of the fourth inning. Nimmo opened the scoring in the first inning with a home run to left center, followed by a run scored on Burger’s single that plated Jung. The Angels extended their lead in the third inning when Duran hit a two-run homer to center, putting Los Angeles ahead 4-1. Foscue added to the tally in the fourth with a solo home run to center, while a ground-rule double in the sixth inning drove in Cauley to make it 6-1.
Starting pitcher Reid Detmers worked four innings for the Angels, allowing five earned runs on seven hits while striking out six batters. Chase Silseth, Brent Suter, Ryan Zeferjahn, and Sam Bachman provided relief, with Kirby Yates taking the loss after allowing a run in his brief appearance. The Angels’ early offensive output seemed insurmountable as the Rangers struggled to generate consistent offense against the Angels’ pitching staff.
