A Breakthrough for Anderson
Kade Anderson secured his first victory of the season by pitching six innings, allowing only one earned run on six hits. The Mariners used this performance to defeat the Texas Rangers 3-2 at T-Mobile Park. Anderson recorded five strikeouts and walked one batter in the outing.
The win improves the rookie’s record to 1-1. The game drew a crowd of 21,565 fans. The Mariners finished the day with a record of 68-78, while the Rangers dropped to 72-74.
Early Back-and-Forth
The Rangers took an early lead in the top of the second inning when Burger homered to center for a 1-0 advantage. Seattle responded immediately in the bottom of the second. Ward singled to center, allowing Raleigh to score and tie the game at 1-1.
The score remained unchanged through the third inning. In the fourth, Seattle extended their lead. Young doubled to right, driving in Ward and Naylor to make it 3-1.
The Rangers managed to score one run in the eighth inning. Seager homered to left, bringing the game to 3-2. No further runs were scored in the remaining innings.
Bullpen Performance
Seranthony Dominguez pitched one inning for the Mariners, allowing no hits, no earned runs, and one walk while striking out one batter. Gabe Speier also pitched one inning, allowing one hit and one earned run with one strikeout. Andres Munoz closed the game with one inning of work.
