The Houston Texans are gearing up for their preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders on August 20, facing challenges due to injuries. Wide receiver Jayden Higgins has been ruled out for the season following a torn ACL, impacting the team's offensive lineup led by quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Stroud, who has experienced a decline in performance over the past two years after a promising rookie season, is anticipated to play a few series, potentially up to 25 plays.
With Higgins sidelined, Stroud will rely on wide receiver Nico Collins, who had a strong season last year with 71 receptions for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns. Other receivers such as Tank Dell, Xavier Hutchinson, and Jaylin Noel will need to contribute significantly in Higgins' absence.
Dell, who missed last season due to injury, previously developed good chemistry with Stroud, while Noel, drafted shortly after Higgins, was a college teammate of his at Iowa State.
As the Texans prepare for the upcoming season, they aim to solidify their offensive strategy amidst the loss of key players, particularly as they look to establish a strong game plan against the Raiders.
