Rangers Snap Losing Streak

The Texas Rangers defeated the Sacramento Athletics 5-3 on Sunday, August 16, at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento, California. The victory improved the Rangers' record to 61-63 while the Athletics dropped to 48-75. Attendance for the game was 10,070. The Rangers came into the contest with a four-game losing streak, which this win officially ended.

Early Rally Sets Tone

The away team struck first in the second inning. Bolte hit a home run to left field that traveled 341 feet. This drive scored Serven and Williams, giving the Rangers a 3-0 lead.

An umpire review overturned the initial field call on the play. The Athletics responded in the fifth inning when Lopez singled to center field, allowing Burger to score and narrowing the gap to 3-1.

Late-Inning Surge
