Trevon Diggs, a former All-Pro cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, has officially joined the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year contract, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This signing follows the Seahawks' recent acquisition of cornerback Terrion Arnold, who is currently facing legal challenges in Florida.
At 27 years old, Diggs has made a significant impact in the NFL, recording 20 interceptions and defending 63 passes throughout his career. He is anticipated to compete for a spot in the Seahawks' secondary, which is currently experiencing injury issues.
Previously, Diggs had inked a five-year contract extension worth $97 million with the Cowboys in July 2023. However, he participated in only 22 out of 51 regular-season games during the following three seasons. His tenure with the Cowboys concluded after various incidents, including a peculiar home accident where he reported a television fell on him, resulting in a lengthy absence in 2025.
After requesting to stay with his family in the Washington, D.C. area following a Christmas Day game, the Cowboys denied his request, leading to his release. He was later claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers shortly after departing from Dallas. Details regarding Diggs' role with the Seahawks and the team's future plans for him remain undisclosed.
