Baylor University has officially added Gao Duanrui to its women's tennis roster for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Joey Scrivano praised Duanrui's commitment, mental resilience, and strong work ethic.
Duanrui, from Tianjin, China, has reached career-high rankings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles on the WTA tour. Throughout her career, she has achieved 52 singles wins, including significant victories at the 2026 M15 Tianjin and the 2025 W15 Luan and Maanshan tournaments.
In doubles, she has made it to the quarterfinals five times, including her performances at the 2026 W15 Tianjin and three events at the 2025 W15 Luan, as well as another quarterfinal showing at the 2025 W15 Maanshan.
The Baylor women's tennis team finished the 2025 season ranked No. 34 in the ITA Year-End team rankings, which marked their 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their 19th time advancing to the second round. The season also included four selections for All-Big 12 honors, three victories against ranked opponents, and two players qualifying for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
