Alonso Powers Offense

Pete Alonso delivered a career milestone for Baltimore, hitting his first two-home-run game of the season to help the Orioles secure a 10-5 victory over the Texas Rangers. Alonso’s power display included a two-run shot in the second inning and another two-run blast in the fourth, accounting for four of the team’s ten runs.

The Orioles jumped out to an early lead, taking a 2-0 advantage in the first inning. Josh Beavers reached on an infield single to first, allowing Alonso to score and Andrew Holliday to move to third. Jose Taveras followed with a double to right field, bringing Holliday home.

The momentum continued in the second inning when Kyle Tucker homered to center field. Shortly after, Alonso launched a 393-foot home run to left, scoring Henderson to extend the lead to 5-0.

Rangers Rally in Third

The Rangers responded with a surge of their own in the third inning, scoring three runs to make it 5-3. Brandon Nimmo homered to center field, driving in Nathaniel Langford and Josh Jung. However, the Orioles’ offense quickly reasserted dominance.

In the fourth inning, Alonso hit his second home run of the day, a 404-foot shot to left center that scored Henderson, pushing the score to 7-3.

Baltimore added insurance runs in the sixth inning when Austin Hays homered to center field, scoring Holliday to make it 9-3. The scoring continued in the ninth inning. With the game effectively decided, the Orioles added one more run when Tucker walked, allowing Beavers to score.

The Rangers managed two final runs in the bottom of the ninth. Daniel Lopez tripled to center, scoring Cauley, and Jung later scored on a groundout to third, making the final score 10-5.
